Featured Audiobook Review of the Week: “Academ’s Fury” by Jim Butcher

For this week’s featured review, we selected Sandra’s review of Academ’s Fury by Jim Butcher. Here’s what Sandra thought of the book:

Academ's Fury audio book by Jim Butcher

“In my opinion, in this second installment of the Codex Alera series Tavi’s cleverness and potential really begin to take shape. I could revel for days in the world that Jim Butcher has created. Once again, Kate Reading’s narration is impeccable. If you have been enjoying how well written the Dresden series is, but are shy about giving a different type of book by Jim Butcher a try, please jump into this series. It does have a very different personality, but it is just as savory, satisfying and clever.” — Sandra

Featured Audiobook Review of the Week: “Boys Should Be Boys” by Meg Meeker

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKmalBIBEUg&feature=youtu.be

For this week’s winning review, we chose Janey’s review of Boys Should Be Boys by Meg Meeker. Here’s what she thought of the book:

“I finally found it. This is the single most valuable parenting book that I’ve read to help with the struggles I sometimes face with my son. I’ve read other books that I thought were pretty valuable, but this one is more valuable than all of those combined. My husband is reading it, too, and can relate with what it says. Bonus: It’s helping me understand men in general! Some might not like everything in the book, but I’m confident every mother, father, caregiver, teacher, grandparent, etc. could find at least some very priceless advice.” — Janey

Featured Audiobook Review of the Week: “Goldfinger” by Ian Fleming

For this week’s featured review, we selected Nicholas’ review of Goldfinger by Ian Fleming. Here’s what Nicholas thought:

Goldfinger audio book by Ian Fleming

“This is perhaps Ian Fleming’s best work bar none. It’s the ultimate smorgasbord of action, adventure, suspense, and, in true Fleming fashion, romance. Fleming paints a vivid tale of good versus evil that only an author of the highest caliber can. Goldfinger will have you one the edge of your seat from start to finish only to end with a twist that writers can only dream of producing. It’s a guaranteed thrill ride the will not disappoint!”

Thanks for writing a great review, Ian!

Featured Audiobook Review of the Week: “Maybe Someday” by Colleen Hoover.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHguyKAPWvo&feature=youtu.be

For this week’s featured review, we picked Sherri’s review of the recently released Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover. Here’s what Sherri has to say about it:

“Holy Smokes! What a great book. The narration was even fantastic. I should have gone to bed 3 hours ago, but couldn’t stop listening. The story has a great secret twist that totally deepened the whole story. This story isn’t your usual back-and-forth and misunderstandings; it was a whole nasty knot that you aren’t sure can be solved. And Zachary Webber’s voice is so seductive, with such a sexy rumble, that you are hopeless to be seduced by him even if you know it’s not good for you. This one is worth every penny and more. My new favorite.”

Thanks for writing a great review, Sherri! To check out Maybe Someday for yourself, watch the video above or head to the book details page. (Also: did you know Colleen Hoover created a completely original soundtrack to complement all the songs written in the book? You can listen to all the songs from the book here!)
