Featured Audiobook Review: “Sycamore Row” by John Grisham

For our featured review this week, we selected James’ review of Sycamore Row by John Grisham.

Sycamore Row by John Grisham

“John Grisham can make the mundane sound exciting. Add to that the fact that the plot is really intriguing and gripping, and you have the makings of an awesome read. And Michael Beck’s narration brings it all to life in all it’s magnificence. A great read, especially if you like legal thrillers and remember Jake Brigance from ‘A Time to Kill’. Highly recommended.”

Ceremony audiobook by Leslie Marmon Silko

“This book is deeper than it appears to be. It grabs your attention and holds into it until the end. The narrator was amazing and the different voices kept my interest. I would suggest this book to others who have a true passion for reading. The poems in this book are also phenomenal and adds too the quality of this book. I truly love and appreciate this book! Hopefully you will too.” — Rhonda

Featured Audiobook Review of the Week: “Divergent” by Veronica Roth

For this week’s featured review, we chose Suzanne’s review of Divergent by Veronica Roth.

Divergent audiobook by Veronica Roth

“Good book. Love the strong female character although her indifference frustrates me at times. I like that the book didn’t get bogged down with sappy, cloying infatuations; it is there but tastefully incorporated. Exciting plot and keeps you guessing where it will lead. I was left anticipating the next book.”

Featured Audiobook Review of the Week: The Shipping News by Annie Proulx

This week, we selected Annie Proulx’s The Shipping News as reviewed by Mike.

The Shipping News audiobook by Annie Proulx

“I have listened to at least 200 or more books and this has to be in my top three. I absolutely love this book and the writing style is like a breath of fresh air, because it is different and it is compelling. To write: “that she was the color of a brown feather on dark water”, you gotta love it. I work for myself and sometimes am alone all day. So I love listen to books a lot, this I have listened to 3x already.
Narrator is excellent – his inflection when doing the voice of Alvin Yark is wonderful. Oh there aint no use, cause every nut and bolt is loose.” — Mike

Audiobook Review of the Week: Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn

For this week’s featured review, we have Gillian Flynn’s Sharp Objects as reviewed by Cheryl.

Sharp Objects audiobook by Gillian Flynn

“This is my favorite book of all time and was written by my favorite author of all time. Everything written by Gillian Flynn is twisted and keeps you wanting more. Sharp Objects is suspenseful along with a little scary. With all of Gillian Flynn’s books just when you think you have the ending figured out, you don’t. She has a way of keeping you on the edge of you seat guessing, but never do you guess the end. You want to keep reading or listening. If I had had the time I would have listed to it straight though. The narration was extremely good. I recommended all of Gillian Flynn’s books! Happy Reading/Listening!” — Cheryl, Audiobooks.com listener
